Primary filter is a basic filter used in air filtration systems, mainly for removing larger particles in the air, such as dust, sand grains, insects, etc. It is usually the first filtration line of defense in air handling systems, used for pre-filtering air to protect subsequent more efficient filters (such as medium-efficiency and high-efficiency filters) from the impact of large particle pollutants.
Primary filters come in three styles: plate type, folded type, and bag type. The outer frame materials include paper frame, aluminum frame, and galvanized iron frame. The filter materials include non-woven fabric, nylon mesh, activated carbon filter material, metal hole mesh, etc. The protective nets include double-sided plastic-sprayed iron wire mesh and double-sided galvanized iron wire mesh. Primary filters are suitable for primary filtration in air conditioning systems, mainly used for filtering dust particles larger than 5μm.
Although the filtering effect of primary filters is limited, they can effectively reduce the burden on subsequent filters and improve the overall efficiency of the air purification system.
