High-Iodine Honeycomb Activated Carbon Blocks for Gas and Odor Adsorption

High-Iodine Honeycomb Activated Carbon Blocks for Gas and Odor Adsorption

Features

Honeycomb activated carbon supplied in standard or custom block sizes for adsorption modules, air-treatment equipment and application-specific purification systems. This honeycomb activated carbon uses an open-channel block structure that allows air or gas to pass through the adsorbent body. The current specification provides an iodine adsorption value of at least 950 mg/g, a specific surface area of at least 1050 m²/g and CTC of at least 65%.
  • Defined Adsorption Indicators:Iodine value, surface area, CTC, moisture and benzene adsorption values are listed for material comparison.
  • Standard Block Sizes:Available in 50 × 50 × 50, 50 × 50 × 100 and 100 × 100 × 100 mm.
  • Honeycomb Flow Channels:The block format provides a structured flow path for use in adsorption modules.
  • Custom Production:Dimensions and performance indicators can be reviewed against the buyer’s target contaminant and equipment design.

    How Honeycomb Activated Carbon Works

Activated carbon adsorbs selected gas molecules on its internal pore surface. The honeycomb structure forms repeated flow channels through the carbon body, allowing the adsorbent to be assembled into panels, cartridges or larger treatment modules.

Adsorption performance depends on the contaminant, concentration, temperature, humidity, airflow and contact time. Iodine value and specific surface area help describe the material, but they do not prove equal performance against every VOC, acid gas, ammonia or odor.

Material Selection by Application

Air and Gas Treatment

For air-treatment equipment, confirm the target gas, allowable pressure drop, face velocity, bed depth and breakthrough requirement. Some contaminants may require impregnated or catalytic carbon rather than a standard activated-carbon block.

Water Treatment

The current page mentions fish tanks, commercial water treatment and industrial wastewater. Before using this material in water, confirm hardness, ash, pH, leachable substances, mechanical stability and any hygiene or regulatory requirements. The listed gas-adsorption indicators alone are not enough to approve a water-treatment application.

Equipment Integration

This page covers the carbon block itself. Frames, screens, seals and complete air-purifier filters require a separate assembly specification that includes dimensions, airflow and pressure drop.

Customization and Quality Control

Block Dimensions

The source lists three standard sizes and states that custom specifications are available. Confirm dimensional tolerance, cutting method and allowable edge damage before order approval.

Adsorption Performance

State the required test method for iodine value, CTC and benzene adsorption. For a specific gas, request a relevant adsorption or breakthrough test instead of relying only on iodine value.

Inspection

Recommended release items include dimensions, appearance, moisture, adsorption indicators and packaging integrity. Only list these as formal QC steps after confirming the actual factory inspection plan.

FAQ

Is this a complete air purifier filter?

No. The confirmed technical data describes honeycomb activated carbon blocks. A complete air-purifier filter also needs a frame or support, dimensional fit, airflow and pressure-drop specification.

What does an iodine value of ≥950 mg/g mean?

It is a material adsorption indicator used to characterize activated carbon. It does not mean the product removes 950 mg of every gas, and it does not predict equal performance against all VOCs or odors.

Can the same block be used for air and water treatment?

Not automatically. Air and water applications may require different carbon sources, binders, strength, ash, pH, leachable-substance and regulatory controls. Confirm the intended service before selection.

Is the honeycomb carbon reusable?

The current page does not provide a validated regeneration method or capacity after regeneration. Do not treat the product as reusable until a regeneration specification is supplied.

What information is needed for a quote?

Provide block dimensions, target contaminant, concentration, airflow or water flow, operating temperature and humidity, required adsorption index, quantity, packaging and test-document requirements.
