How Honeycomb Activated Carbon Works
Activated carbon adsorbs selected gas molecules on its internal pore surface. The honeycomb structure forms repeated flow channels through the carbon body, allowing the adsorbent to be assembled into panels, cartridges or larger treatment modules.
Adsorption performance depends on the contaminant, concentration, temperature, humidity, airflow and contact time. Iodine value and specific surface area help describe the material, but they do not prove equal performance against every VOC, acid gas, ammonia or odor.
Material Selection by Application
Air and Gas Treatment
For air-treatment equipment, confirm the target gas, allowable pressure drop, face velocity, bed depth and breakthrough requirement. Some contaminants may require impregnated or catalytic carbon rather than a standard activated-carbon block.
Water Treatment

What does an iodine value of ≥950 mg/g mean?
It is a material adsorption indicator used to characterize activated carbon. It does not mean the product removes 950 mg of every gas, and it does not predict equal performance against all VOCs or odors.
Can the same block be used for air and water treatment?
Not automatically. Air and water applications may require different carbon sources, binders, strength, ash, pH, leachable-substance and regulatory controls. Confirm the intended service before selection.
Is the honeycomb carbon reusable?
